Question:
What kind of “emergency services” do you provide?
Answer: SWAN provides referrals to neighborhood food pantries within the 14608, 14611 and 14619 zip codes; referrals to job readiness & employment opportunities; one-time assistance to families with children (single/full size bed frames, mattress/box spring, dressers, refrigerator or stove; one-time rental/mortgage assistance (up to $300); one-time RG & E assistance (up to $300), Thanksgiving & Christmas baskets or food cards (first come, first served); breakfast program twice a month (Nov-Mar); lunch program twice a month (May-Aug); food vouchers (emergency basis only).

Question:  Where do I go for “emergency services” & what is the phone number?
Answer: At SWAN/The Bridge, 584 Jefferson Avenue, Mon-Fri, between 9:30 and 3:30; the phone # is (585) 328-1940

Question:  What is “Building Blocks?”
Answer: Building Blocks is a program that encourages the partnering of adults and youth to identify, plan and execute community improvement projects with a continual link back to neighborhood Block Clubs so that we maintain our grassroots focus.

Question:  How do I register my child for your After School program?
Answer: Applications can be picked up at the SWAN front desk (275 Dr. Samuel McCree Way). The After School program serves youth ages 6-15 on Mondays through Fridays from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Question:  Who is eligible for Wellness Center services?
Answer: Only James Madison High School of Excellence students are eligible for Wellness Center services.

Question:  Do you provide housing services?
Answer: Yes, we are funded by the City of Rochester to provide home repairs. The contact person is Calvin Lee, Jr., at (585) 452-8920..
